Two Centre Vacation - England and Scotland

OUTLINE ITINERARY

Week One: Tour of Stratford-upon-Avon and the Cotswolds

Your Guide grew up in this area and hence is very well placed to provide an escorted tour of both the major sites/places of interest and those which may fit in the “off the tourist trail” category. Envisage you staying at a three star Country Hotel to be used a base for visits to such possible venues as:

• Royal Shakespeare Theatre and Shakespeare’s Birthplace.
• Shakespeare Country (Anne Hathaway’s Cottage and nearby villages).
• Warwick Castle (A dramatic fortress dating back to 1068.)
• Burford (Old wool town with honey colored buildings.)
• The pretty village of Bourton-on-the-Water.
• Edgehill (site of famous civil war battle).
• Chipping Camden (Historic Cotswolds wool town)

This Tour will be fully escorted. You will be collected at Moreton-in-Marsh railway station and at the finish will travel by rail or air to Glasgow to commence Scottish Tour.

Week Two: Tour Scotland

Arrive Glasgow and be transported to the pretty Perthshire village of Dunkeld which sits on the banks of the magnificent River Tay. Use local three star country hotel as a base for visits to such possibilities as:

• Castles (there are six, each within a one hour drive).
• Distilleries (three in the general locality)
• Perthshire and Loch Tay, benefiting from your guide’s local knowledge of the area.
• Glencoe (site of famous massacre)
• Isle of Skye
• Loch Ness and the North East (More castles, distilleries and scenery)
• Opportunities to meet local people

This tour will be escorted throughout.

At finish, return to Glasgow or Edinburgh airport for return flight home.
